Day 3 – Conceptual Pretest – Matter and Change

In the final 5 minutes of today’s classes, I handed out a conceptual pretest to my students.  It was just a series of statements about matter and change and they were to mark true or false.  They could also add a comment if they wished.  I only wanted them to take a couple minutes to do them, so that I could see what their instincts were.  Here were the results from my 74 general chemistry students and theUnit 1 PreTest:
