Day 4 – The Can Demo w/ Video!

Today we started with the exploding can demo and discussed how we make observations.  Most students forget two important things: there are more senses than sight, and the absence of something is also an observation.  I quickly remind them that if they add any taste observations we’ll have to have a serious conversation because they shouldn’t taste anything in lab!  Here’s my video of the can demo.

Then I sent the kids to white board what the beginning, middle and end of the demo.  With only thirty minutes, we didn’t get into the particle model.  But that will be our first task next class.
