Day 25 – What’s in the bag!

To start our second unit, I walk into the classroom with a closed paper grocery bag. Instruct them that they have to remain in their seats and silent, but to raise their hand when they figured out what’s in the bag. After a minute or two, the student in front row center raised his hand. Slowly, hands raise up further and further from the bag. Eventually, every hand is up. I ask the back of the room to tell me what it was. She answered, “Popcorn of course!”

They were then tasked to explain what happened with our particle model with no other instructions. Take a look below.

We had a great discussion of particle density and movement!
