Today we discussed what factors would affect how much heat was needed to raise the temperature of water as a single phase and to pass through a phase change.
Got heating water we identified that both the amount of water and the change in temp would be a factor. This would give us a line with a slope of the mass times a constant when we relate heat and temp.
They phase change was easier, since it wasn’t a function of temperature. We then determined that it would just be equal to the mass times a constant.
Next week we’ll put them together in a piece wise function.
